STORY (By Episode) 400 years ago... at the time of war... An Old man talking to Kagerou (Recca's mother): "That child... One day, his strong Flame will lead the Hokage Ninja. You must teach him everything you know". Kage Houshi run, with the child in her arms, to get away from the fighting. Suddenly, she stops, and with a few mysterious hand gestures she used the Hokage forbidden spell and she opens up a time gate and sends the child through with the words, "My child... Recca... You will become our greatest Ninja". Then Recca was sent into the future 400 years after and the adventure begins!! Episode 1: Hime (Princess) and Ninja Powers Awaken!! Recca was sent 400 years into the future when he was just a baby. In this episode a much older (teenage) Recca is seen fighting with a big oaf- Domon, who swears he will defeat Hanabishi Recca. Using makeshift "ninja" tactics, Recca ends up trapping Domon in a pit. Domon promises he will someday make Recca his servant by defeating him. Recca grins and replies that whenever he defeats him, Recca will serve as his personal ninja. After the fight with Domon, Recca went home to get his lunch. As he was eating at the park he noticed some kids running around and one of them falls down and starts to cry. A girl comes and helps the kid up and this draws Recca's attention. Then he decides to follow her. They come across this construction site and suddenly the pipes get loose and start to fall on the girl and one of the kids, but then Recca runs and so he pushed them away but he was very seriously injured. Recca dreamed about this princess giving him thanks for saving her. The girl decides to use her special healing power to save Recca. He wakes up and he notices that everyone's looking at him so he runs away. The girl finds Recca on a park bench and thanks him again for saving him. She introduces herself as Sakoshita Yanagi, but Recca insists on calling her Hime, or Princess, and she reluctantly consents. In exchange for saving his life, Recca takes her to a special place. In the abandon warehouse Recca showed Yanagi some cool fireworks and told her that his father is a fireworks maker. Suddenly, the shadows begin to move and coalesce into a woman- Kage Houshi. Recca stands in front of Yanagi, protecting her. Kage Houshi says she is not here to harm them, and talks a little about the civil year and internal conflict in the Hokage Ninja 400 years ago. Then she demands him to show his flame. He is confused, so she attacks him, hurting his leg. Recca won't let Yanagi show her healing power and tries to fight Kagehoushi. She strikes him down, and Yanagi stands in front of him, blocking Kagehoushi's way to Recca. Kagehoushi slashes Yanagi with her knife and the girl falls, caught by Recca. Recca is angry and tries to fight again, but is defeated once more. Then Kagehoushi threatens to kill Yanagi. Recca flashes back to scenes of Yanagi and his dream of the "Princess". He yells for her to stop and flame bursts from his hand. At first he is surprised and scared, but then he uses it to attack. Kagehoushi says it's too weak, and tells him to get stronger if he wants to kill her. Then she disappears. Recca carried Yanagi down the street. She stirs and wakes up, confusedly asking what happened to Kage Houshi. Recca says he made her go away and he tells her that he's her ninja and she's his Hime (princess), and that a ninja must always protect his Hime.And on this day, their 400 years of battle begins anew. Episode 2: Flame against Fujin Dangerous Temptations!! Recca recalls the late events in his life as he runs to school. Just recently, he met up with a mysterious lady called Kage Houshi. She forces him to realize his power, the power to produce flame from his hands. In the process, Recca meets a girl, Yanagi Sakoshita, who possesses the ability to heal. He promises to himself that he will protect her, his Hime, as his Princess' ninja. As Yanagi is walking to class she hears Recca's voice calling "Hime!!" Everyone hears that he's calling her Hime and everyone is surprised because they think that Yanagi beat Recca in a fight. So everyone's looking at them strangely and Yanagi runs away because she's so embarrassed. Yanagi and Recca are eating together by lunchtime when Domon comes up to them and asks if Recca really is Yanagi's ninja. Recca responds sarcastically, and then Domon throws him in the garbage can. Domon asks again den Recca asks him why should he tell a nose-ringed mongoloid like him. Domon is very mad and so as he's walking towards Recca he steps on some tacks on the ground. Domon is jumping hysterically while Recca does some hula dance in front of him. Recca tells Yanagi that they should go somewhere else but Domon reminds him about what Fuuko might think of this. Recca stops in his tracks, turns around, hoists Yanagi on his shoulders, and runs for it. They escape to the roof of the school. There, they unexpectedly meet up with the Fuuko. Fuuko is furious that she did not succeed in defeating Recca before Yanagi did. There is a short fight between them before Recca traps Fuuko in a net, informing her that the reason he was Yanagi's ninja was not because he was defeated. He just felt like it. Later, Fuuko assaults a tree to work off her rage. Kage Houshi watches, hidden from Fuuko's view. After a while, she emerges from the shadows and walks to Fuuko offering a gift, the Fujin. At first, Fuuko refuses the offer. Then, Kage Houshi shows her the power stored in the Fujin. Meanwhile in Mori Kouran's office, Kurei is talking to Kouran and tells him that he heard rumors going around that Yanagi has the power of healing. Kouran is excited and tells Kurei to find out more about her. The phone starts to ring at Recca's house. It's Fuko and she starts to flirt with him. She's at school and she wants Recca to meet her there. Then Kage Houshi picks up the phone and tells Recca that she really wants to see him too. Recca gets worried and runs to the school. Yanagi sees him and follows him. Recca arrives at school, only to find Fuko eagerly awaiting a fight with him. The challenge begins as Kage Houshi acquaints him with the fact that the Fujin on Fuko's wrist possesses her and urges her to battle. Recca dodges Fuko's attacks while trying not to hurt her much. Yanagi appears on the scene only to run off for help. Kage Houshi stops her by knocking her unconscious. However, as Yanagi awakens, she pleads to a mysterious figure standing before her to aide Recca at the school. Upon completing her request, she faints again. While Fuko and Recca were fighting Yanagi arrived and sees this. She tries to find someone to help but then Kage Houshi stops her by punching her stomach. Then Domon catches her and they both go to the school. Domon interrupts the fight and Fuuko gets angry and Fuuko attacks both of them. Recca gets out of the way while Domon takes the hit. She keeps on attacking him as Domon walks towards her. He tells her to wake up and Fuuko realizes what she's doing. Then Kage Houshi appears and tells her to keep fighting. Then Recca gets mad at Kage Houshi for using his friend, his buddy, and his Hime. Then he summons his flame.
